Developed and Analyzed P6 schedules, cost, budget and forecasts for a $100MM new build EPC deep water berths for storage and shipment of biomass wood pellets for use in industrial energy applications. Wrote and trended P6 to level 4-5 schedules and cost for multiple EPC Outage projects with plant PM’s (NextEraEnergy) to prepare for and during Re-Fueling Outage 24 and out-years.  Scheduling included LP Turbine Long Shank dove-tailed Modifications, Emergency Diesel Generator power cable and controls replacements, Cyber Security, Yard Transformer, Fukushima Regulatory Response, and Emergent upgrades.  Noted by staff management for quickly (getting ‘up to speed’) making a positive impact.

·            2012 &13: Led 2 year GEH Lungmen 1&2 EPC NPP start-up project detailed scheduling tasks including 16 months in Taiwan managing I&C & troubleshooting DCIS replacement parts and equipment upgrades.  Also performed logistics studies in Switzerland.

 

·            2011: Project Controls Manager (PCM) – P6 scheduled and delivered comprehensive LWA (Early Works for India NPCIL) EPC proposal for GEH’s initial 2-Units and ESBWR Stand Plant Design.

 

·            2009 &10: PCM - developed the Dominion ABWR EPC new build schedule & proposal in 10 weeks. Specially recognized and rewarded by GEH staff management for my cost, product quality, and schedule results. ·            2008: PM - led the 50Hz ABWR product line EPC proposals in Asia, Europe and Middle East. Recipient

of a Management Award for my Consortium and ‘UTE’ teaming efforts in Turkey & Spain.  Also, Project Controls management / scheduler- established PC’s for the new ESBWR product line. Created the Project Leadership Team (PLT).

Provided professional level technical document writing, schedules and guidance for D&D Projects in support of DOE / Bechtel Jacobs (BJC) RadCon Alliance, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Expertly led (through Asset Management Analysis Group) a team to initiate project controls and management related environmental permits, ISMS, programs & plans, radiological procedures, and developed & wrote responses to RFQ’s for the Department of Energy Savannah River (DOE-SR). This project was the first-ever DOE-SR “self-direct managed” new facility ($100Million) nuclear construction project. Project completed 2 months ahead of schedule and $8M under budget.

 

DUKE COGEMA STONE & WEBSTER – Lead Project Engineer, 2000–2003, Aiken, SC

Led a multi-disciplined team (3 years) of R&D engineers and designers (in France & US) to design, fabricate, procure, assemble, and test 50 plus complex glovebox process unit systems ($200 of 400 Million) for the Mixed-Oxide (MOX) Fuel Fabrication Facility to be located at the Savannah River Site (Large high profile DOE-NRC project). Responsibilities with the MOX nuclear (Pu loaded) fuel project included timely resolution of open licensing, radiological, technical, safety issues, and Unreviewed Safety Question Determinations (USQD).       Held DOE “L” clearance

· Special material handling (Pu, pellets & fuel assemblies) single point contact to initiate and manage interdisciplinary interactions with support engineering groups and vendors. ·            Transportable Vitrification System (TVS) program – was lead engineer and subcontract technical

representative (STR) during testing and operations of mixed waste TVS ($35Million) program. Project accomplished at the Oak Ridge K-33, TN (3 year rotational assignment) after extensive surrogate testing was performed in Clemson, SC. Designed material handling equipment and canisters. First-ever radioactive mixed waste melter demonstration within DOE Complex.

·            DOE’s MW Robotics Demonstration interfaced with National Laboratories, project controls duties and handled all radiological zoning and requirements, environmental permitting, and facility modification issues.   Also, the STR administrator for the project. Spear headed and completed a first of its kind glovebox designed CO2 radioactive decontamination cleaning system.

·            Digital Radiography Inspection and Measurement System team leader and PM for an automated glovebox measurement system used for special non-destructive tests on weapon assemblies for defense customers. Special HP/IH & project controls were necessary. Placed first-ever digital radiography inspection & measurement system into process operation for both DOE Design Agencies.

·            In-Tank Reactor Examinations led engineering effort to investigate, analyze, and present to DOE results of an intensive multi-disciplined non-destructive examinations (NDE) and testing evaluations on potentially flawed core barrel reactor welds. Applauded as Savannah River Site’s NDE expert: saved DOE-SR ($$Millions in re-testing of all welds for the multiple Production Reactors.

·            Real-time analysis of NDE – performed data examinations and wrote software for use during critical path work. Gained a very unique interdisciplinary expertise in NDE field of study.
